Siemens EDM Scanning Idea

Found some new scanners that Canon offers - they are network attached and have software loaded right on them. This would be a great solution to offer with NSI. We could pre-load the software on the scanner and the implementations would be a piece of cake. You could drop scanners all over the facility - then just drop barcoded forms and documents on the scanner and through the NSI interface they would get put in the correct folder in the EMR - Automatically!! Easy!

Progress Notes - New Feature Idea

I found a company called Airstrip.  They have technology that pushes vitals, labs and images to handheld devices - iPhone, Windows Mobile etc.   It got me thinking. What if we used something similar inside the progress note - we could write an applet inside the note to pull the data and display it 'live' in real time.  Then the physician could 'clip' or 'snag' live data to be stored as an image inside the note.  Airstrip requires a server to manage the communication with the hospital systems and the devices communicate with this server.  We could partner with airstrip or develop something similar.  

Cancer Staging and ALI

As we move passed the development of UPMC and Physician Credentialing we need to look toward the next project. One idea would be to build out the cancer staging solution with ALI. The good thing is that the AJCC (Joint Commission on Cancer) has already defined all of the required data on all of current Cancer Staging forms. So we just build them out in ALI - wrap it all up as a Cancer Staging Solution and resell it to every oncology and cancer facility in the country. The offer form updates everytime the AJCC makes a change.
